Pierre Hamon

Musician

Pierre is a flutist and composer. His repertoire ranges from early music to contemporary music. He has maintained a close and ongoing collaboration with Jordi Savall since 1995. In 1998, he became a student of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, a grand master of Hindustani music and the bansuri flute; then his exploration of humanity’s fundamental gestures and sounds led him to the world of pre-Columbian flutes and civilizations, as well as Native American traditions. Alongside his career as an international concert performer, his curiosity has led him to original artistic projects, such as those with Les Chanteurs d’Oiseaux (Syrinx, Darwin, and Le Voyage du Beagle) or composing film scores (Pachamama, an animated film by Juan Antin nominated for the 2019 César Awards, and Jehanne, by Atam Rasho, released in 2021).

It was in perfect alignment with the creative vision behind the production Souviens-toi d’avant l’aube that he joined the creative team.
